VETERAN ENTREPRENEUR PORTAL

Accessing entrepreneurial resources is essential for empowering SDVOSB, VOSB, and other small businesses with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to thrive in a competitive marketplace.

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) offers a wealth of entrepreneurship resources designed to support Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), and other small businesses at every stage of their business journey. Whether an entrepreneur is looking to grow a business, SBA provides valuable tools and guidance to help you succeed. SBA also has a comprehensive suite of virtual learning programs designed to enhance their business acumen and broaden their business. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce also offers guidance on Veterans on how to start a business.
Additionally, a wide range of resource providers deliver training, mentoring, and counseling to help you start or grow your business. They include SCORE, Small Business Development Centers, Veterans Business Outreach Centers, or Women’s Business Centers.
The U.S. Department of Labor offers resources to assist both new and existing businesses in complying with Federal and state laws. Furthermore, the Internal Revenue Service offers detailed information on business credits and deductions, along with guidance on how to claim them on your tax return.

If you are considering entering the Federal marketplace, familiarize yourself with processes of your products and services to the U.S. government. Additionally, understand the certification requirements necessary for your business to satisfy in order to qualify for set-aside or sole source contracts tailored for businesses meeting specific socio-economic conditions.

The Transition Assistance Program provides information and resources to help service members transition into civilian life. Meanwhile, the Veteran Readiness and Employment Program supports Veterans and service members by providing assistance with job training, resume development, and job seeking skills. SBA offers specialized resources to help you navigate the unique challenges of starting and managing a business. This includes guidance on accessing Federal contracts and receiving individualized counseling and training. These programs are designed to empower Veterans to leverage their skills and experience to manage a successful business.
